Vintage 1930s school lamp

This rare ceiling lamp used to hang in a Dutch school. It is a true design classic, made and designed by Willem Hendrik Gispen, around 1930. This model has an aluminum suspension, porcelain fitting and opaline glass.
The beautifully shaped glass is made of opaline glass, and in very nice condition, a few small scratches. The aluminum shows signs of age.

The GISO lamps were made of crystal glass, which was covered with a thin layer of opal glass. The 'Giso' glass therefore lets through more and paler light than the milk glass of that time.
