Philips Timor desk lamp – 50’s Dutch design Louis Kalff light

Iconic Table Light From Philips

Good condition as this lamp is already quite old. Only minor imperfections, a dent and some scratches, but in a beautiful, good vintage condition with the original paint.
Re-wired with an extra on / off switch and Type C plug "Europlug".
This beautiful lamp probably belonged to a large company, as it has a brass number plate on the inside of the large shade.

Edison screw-fitting E27 for a 100 Watt mirror-lightbulb.

The Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff (1897-1976) joined Philips in 1925.
He modernize the visual image of the company by designing advertisements and a range of electric products.
In 1946 he became Philips chief designer and head of the lighting division.
In this position he designed a large number of lighting fixtures.
